Volunteering at Geelong RSL

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Geelong RSL. We welcome new people to join our dedicated volunteer team in Geelong.

Geelong RSL Fundraising and Appeals

Volunteer roles at Geelong RSL mainly centre on fundraising through selling badges in the lead up to Anzac Day and selling poppies prior to Remembrance Day.

Sellers generally follow a roster and set up shop at larger shopping centres, hardware stores etc. Our RSL Appeals Officer might also require assistance to assemble, pack and deliver merchandise trays to local schools and businesses before, and then collect the proceeds and stock balances directly after our appeals. We also need assistance to sell raffle tickets at the Geelong RSL club on Thursday and Friday nights.

Veteran Support

Veteran Support volunteers provide well-being support to veterans and their families and might undertake a variety of roles including:

Most veteran support roles require volunteers to undergo a National Police Check for Aged Care. Some Veterans Support roles such as Pensions Officers and Welfare Officers also require volunteers to undergo specialized accredited training to enable them to undertake their duties. At Geelong RSL, we fully support interested volunteers to become accredited.

RSL Commemoration and Memorabilia

For Anzac Day and Remembrance Day our volunteers might be called on to assist at our Annual Commemoration Services.

RSL Administrative Support

Administrative Support roles can include assisting in the day-to day-running of our club and we always seek people who can freely offer their time, trade or professional qualifications to help make Geelong RSL a better veterans support and community destination.
