RSL bowling club, Geelong

The Geelong RSL’s sports offerings comprised billiards and cards when the club first opened in 1916 but lawn bowls became part of the RSL’s sporting repertoire in 1951 with the creation of a Geelong bowling club. Today the Geelong RSL’s bowling greens serve the dual purpose of providing bowls rinks for players and an attractive vista for guests enjoying the facilities of the RSL’s Geelong function centre which overlooks the playing surface.

The RSL’s bowls club quickly entrenched itself into Geelong’s sporting community and today the RSL greens are a popular destination for bowlers competing in pennant competitions on Saturdays and Tuesdays and Bowls Victoria events on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. As well, the bowling club provides social bowls, bowls coaching and practice and also offers occasional games of social barefoot bowls.

The RSL bowling club in Geelong welcomes inquiries from prospective members and also provides coaching under the supervision and tuition of Bowls Victoria-accredited coaches.

Anybody interested in joining the RSL bowls club can contact officials listed below. Also, remember to join the Geelong RSL club and enjoy all the benefits of membership, including access to RSL entertainment, fine bistro dining and regular Sunday afternoons of Geelong RSL’s traditional jazz concerts.
